The Roaring Forties performed their usual eye-opening display. Sadly they were one pilot short this year after the Fouga Magister crash earlier this year.

The Cresco's from Wanganui Aero Work do an awesome display - they're an ideal display aircraft (to view anyway), being big, powerful, maneuverable, and not too fast These guys are terrific, and one of the highlights of the airshow. |

Jurgis Kairy's amazing Sukhoi Su 26. Jurgis's ability to throw this thing around defies belief! This is him side-slipping the entries length of the runway. Apparently Jurgis is one of the engineers at Sukhoi, having helped developed the Su-26, 29, and the incredible Su-31. He's also one of the top pilot's in the world. |

Part of the lunch time entertainment was Jurgis in his Sukhoi racing Inky Tulloch in his racing truck, and a good time was had by all. |

The RNZAF, in it's neutered form (thanks for nothing, Helen!) put in an intriguing combination. As always, a very professional display. |

I have always thought that the P3 was a handsome aeroplane, the late gray colour scheme on our P3-K's just enhances this. |

WOW 2004 was the final display of the Breitling fighters, sponsored by Breitling watches. Interesting how they managed to do some neat formation flying with aircraft of totally different flying characteristics. |

Celebrity of the show was Buzz Aldrin, seen here standing and waving. The man seated and waving is Tim Wallis, the man who started the Alpine Fighter Collection and Warbirds over Wanaka. |

Heli-logging support the airshow by bringing it's ex-RAFG Westland Wessex (seen here getting some pre-departure attention) and a Westland Scout. I was surprised at how big this sucker is, so good to be able to see. |

My final photograph is one of the last I took - Pioneer's DC-3 departing for Christchurch on Sunday evening. This close, at full throttle (I guess!) it sounded so nice! A fitting end to an excellent display |
